  • Tools for sale or trade/wanted or to give thread

Since we don't have a classified section, I thought I'd start a thread where anyone can post tools for sale, trade, or tools they need. If it's inappropriate, moderator please feel free to pull it. My hope is that it will limited to building professionals selling/trading giving our personal tools and that jggyshoes or Dino types won't be pushing their stuff.

I also thought guys in difficult financial situations could post their needs (like when Kreg got his tools ripped off) and those of us with multiples might be able to help them out. Kreg's pay it forward thread got me thinking about helping others so here goes.

I'll start out with a couple of items for sale and some others available for guys in need (scraping by just starting out, tools got ripped off etc, . I know when I first started out on some jobs, I had to direct all the money made to buy a tool just to complete the job. I hope people will be honest and not abuse the generosity.

Free to those who "need" it, I have a Makita sidewinder, a Senco 23 ga pin nailer, a 10" Delta chop saw, a Pasloade cordless framing nailer, misc hand tools, and a Bosch hammerdrill, possibly more stuff, let me know your situation, PM if you'd rather not brodcast it to the world.

For sale I have an almost new (used on two jobs) Hilti PD30 laser measuring device. I paid $349 plus tax at HD for it last fall. I'd take $250 plus shipping. I have everything in the original box.

Also a DW 708, tight, accurate (slides easy, no slop when wiggled at extension, I've used several other 708's and I could never get them to slide freely when I adjusted the slop out ), Bought in 2004 but has been taken care of. It is too deep for the bench space in my shop so I'm buying a 716 for the shop and the Kapex for the truck. Paid $599 sell for $350

Kye, GREAT idea! Your very generous! I know I have struggled the last couple years just starting out to get equiped. Through the guys here and and Contractors Club, I have received some great tools at amazing prices. I would not have been able to buy them otherwise. Now I am doing pretty good.

I am sure you will find some deserving people here. I can remember wishing I had certain tools a while back, now I am wondering how I got to where I am! 8-)

Thanks again Kreg and GregDi ! Your generousity is greatly appreciated!

Kye, great thread. The only thing I have that's surplus is a Turbo Torch setup for sweating copper. It runs acetylene, currently connected to a MC tank, has gauge/regulator and a couple of tips. Useful for sweating 1" and larger copper, possibly for flaming stone. Any interest out there let me know.

I love the idea, I have always wondered about this, hope it works out. I am looking for a few coil framing nailers, if anyone has some to sell that are not to beat up. Also looking for a 3hp or so router.

Re: Tools for sale or trade/wanted or to give thread

I've gotten quite a few PMs to the free tools so rather than respond to everyone now, I'm going to give it another day or two and see how many others respond, then give them to those most in need.

On a side note, tools I'm looking to buy if anyone has them for sale or trade:

            DW716
            Festool Mini or midi
            14" band saw
            rabbet plane
Lie Nielson or Veritas block plane
Festool OF2200 with line boring jig
            V28 batteries and tools

            Thanks,

            kye

              Kye,

I have a little interest in that Bosch Hammerdrill. I don't need a freebie though. If someone "needs" it, they can have it. Lemme know if it's still around after a while. I just burned mine up.

Also, I have a Porter Cable Job boss compressor I wanna get rid of. It's in perfect shape. I bought it to run off my generator but the genny doesn't have enough guts to restart the thing when the tank is full. Paid 315 bucks for it, looking to get maybe 215? Obviously, price negotiable.

I'll check back in here as soon as I can. I have limited internet access so I might be awhile, though.

Good luck with your thread. Good idea by the way.

                  Dino,

I don't have a problem with your products, but I do have a problem with your social skills/marketing which seem to be a hinderance to your success. If I were you, I'd take a real hard look at how I was presenting myself and why so many have negative reactions to it. There is something there, I promise.

                    Kye,

Sorry for your problem with my "social skills".
I have no problem with yours.

After all, some of my success come from it.

                    If you were me, you may knew more...about you (;
Do you like me to tell you about your problem
and why I don't have a problem with you?

Dino, don't take this the wrong way but.......

                      Go Pound Sand.

Continually insinuating (one of your more ridiculous efforts) that certain members of this forum are less intelligent than those who would purchase your products, is a fast way to the "dark side".

I personally have no preference between certain products you make, and others of similar ilk, but based on your responses to this forum, I can unequivocally say you'll never, EVER get anything but a negative comment on any of your products from me.

You act like a petulant child in your responses here, not like an experienced businessman, which only proves (to the smart people in this country) what is being said about you and your products.

Re: Tools for sale or trade/wanted or to give thread

What's unfortunate here is that a thread that was started with a noble cause in mind has evolved into this. Seems that anywhere he goes on these boards, Dino's effect is the same. Guys, we're apparently not going to change the leopard's spots, so can we agree to drop any further references/interaction to him & his product from this thread, please?

To get back to the original intent of this thread, I have a multi-bay Milwaukee charger free to anyone who needs it...http://www.tylertool.com/noname97.ht...FRW5GgodJlyExQ

All I ask is that you consider paying for shipping. However, if that's a stretch for someone, I'll also cover shipping within the lower 48.

Wouldn't it be great if the moderators of this forum did some moderating and removed posts that interfere with the intent of this thread?

                          Kye,

Are you aware of anyone who is in need at this point?

Kye, are you still looking for a block plane? I have a low angle Veritas with the ball tail & knob I'm looking to part with...http://www.leevalley.com/wood/page.a...85&cat=1,41182
                            http://www.leevalley.com/wood/page.a...15&cat=1,41182

All items are new, in box. I bought them a year or so ago, but prefer the apron style planes, so they've sat unused in the shop.

                              Greg, you're absolutely right.

I'd like to apologize to the members of the forum and to Kye for jacking his thread.

To contribute some, I have an entire armada of Makita 9.6v cordless tools (batteries not included:) I've decided to part with, sale or trade. Including an ancient 2-sp drill w/ newer Jacobs keyless chuck (by me:) that will never die, a newer, very compact T-style keyless chuck drill, Rt. angle drill w/ keyless chuck, sawzall, flashlight, and several chargers (3, I think, one is multi-volt up to 14.4).

I upgraded to the Ni-mh 18v. 2.6Ahr Maks when they came out and could really use a cordless jigsaw, vac/blower or even the cordless 7 1/4" compound slider.

                              PM's welcome :)
