  • Hot water recirculation retrofit

There is a hot water heater in the center of two separate runs to MB and guest bath, where installing a true recirculation loop is practical on one side (MB) but not the other.

Has anyone had experience with running a loop on one run and a cold water bypass on the other run? Would it work, or should I just tell them to let the occasional guest wait for hot water?

If I try the thermostatic cold water bypass in the guest bath, could it be plumbed into and pressurized by the same pump as the recirculation line, or would it be better with a separate pump under the sink?
