    Handyman Business

I am looking thoughts on starting a Handyman business to go along with our remodeling/new const. GC Business.

I have been doing some research and see that it is a very fast growing segment of the const. industry. I also think it would be a great compliment to our GC business since we could possibly feed referals from the handyman company to the GC company and vice versa. I have an employee that would be great for the hadnyman position, and we already have the truck/trailer/tools to dedicate to it.

Again, just looking for thoughts from people who may have input or suggestions. Thanks,

    Tim

I think the best advertising you could do is to let the door stay open whenever you can, I'd hire you in a minute knowing that you are that particular about your work. A 360 degree virtual tour of your truck on your website would be a very impressive display.
That is a super idea. We will look into that and see what is involved. My only concern is theft. It is time for an alarm it looks like. It is raining here today so that is something to put on the schedule.

Very cool van setup. I'm a real organization nut, and I'd love to have a van like that- even if I didn't work out of it.......lol. There's just something about toolboxes with lots of drawers, boxes and bins with everything in its place. Ever seen the inside of one of the NASCAR or NHRA trailers? Talk about a dream, man......

    Kreg,
We picked out the color from a late model VW bug and my daughter and I did the layout on the lettering.

The interior has changed a couple of times and there is still a little more work to do. When we purchased the van we requested an additional hinge on the doors to allow extra weight. The next addition will be a organizer for small parts mounted on the door.

I wanted to add that the van is 14 months old and we have less than 5,000 miles. Most of our jobs are within 2 miles of home. That helps a lot in keeping down the operating costs.

    Thanks for the comments

    Gary

that is a great set up and you would be the winner for the best organized van I have ever seen! plus your truck lettering and yellow color is great.

great marketing you did designing your truck color and lettering.

you get an A+ and get to take tomorrow off from school !

cleaner and neater than my house. I do wonder how many tries before you got it set up that way. That seems to be my thing. I tried various containers and shelving units until I got it the way I wanted it. Then I see this and want to change...

I also like your lettering on the truck. Very original and clever. Also I bet it is hard to miss it as it goes down the street, parked in front of a home, in the parking lot.

That is the way we keep it daily. Everything has a place and goes back when we are done with it.

That's very impressive. It looks better than most store I've in. You must carry everything.

Did you just clean it out or is that the way it always is? If that's it then WOW!
