  • Low slope roof insulation options

Well, we survived hurricane Irma, but the repairs begin! I am currently replacing a styrofoam/metal structural panel roof that blew off with a 2x6 syp 16oc properly tied down. The exterior is peel/stick base coat with peel/stick granular top coat (CertainTeed's Flintlastic® SA). My question is how to best insulate the 5 1/2" of roof that is 400sf. Spray foam may be too expensive and I am considering XPS/PolyISO cut to fit between rafters or fiberglass. Suggestions appreciated.

hello, I am curious about hurricanes and flat-roofs. Could you tell me if your roof:
    1) used a Hurricane Tie to attach the rafter to wall top-plate
    2) was vented or unvented?
