I am installing 3" of XPS around the foundation of my existing house. Energy auditor said to install it 24" deep, so that's what I'm doing. The only part I don't know how to accomplish is in front of my garage. I have an asphalt driveway and it butts up to the garage slab. Also, directly beside the asphalt is a concrete slab that is in front of my front entry door.

Should I cut the asphalt and concrete to install insulation here? Is it worth the effort? If so, what is the best way to patch after installing the insulation, so it doesn't look horrible. Replacing the entire driveway is not in the budget.
