    Default Attempt to Increase ...

None of JLC's forums seem to be getting any action. I mean, oftentimes, even "Trade Talk" will go a day (even multiple) without a post. Finish Carpentry? Forget about it ... Ceramic and Drywall ... even worse.

So, here's something that used to bring 'em out of the woodwork (two thirds of a pun ... P U)

    Ready?

Butt taper, Butt taper, Butt taper or Buttaper, Buttaper, Buttaper

(cannot remember if it's one word or two)

    Lamya,
When all the political stuff entered these forums a lot of regulars left. Some left right away and some stuck it out longer. I see Stovepipe is back with his B.S.,much more of that and we will see the end of a professional JLC forums before long.

Andrew is correct, but also consider this: for those of us who've been here for a few years, we've pretty much beat most issues to death already, more than once. So I think it's normal for the pace to slow down a bit.

Yes there isn't much action but I always look forward to Mark's little riddles, those are always new and entertaining :)

True and then when someone new comes along they get referred to the thread that discusses that topic instead of discussing it again, and (maybe) gaining a little new knowledge from it.

I have to agree with Tom. Getting referred to another post is not always the best idea.
New ideas come along all the time and it's good to share them.

I have a butt taper tool and have used it several times and often with good results. It is not a foolproof tool and does have a bit of a learning curve. It goes with me in my truck and gets pulled out often enough that I like it and keep it around.

I am intrigued with this tool ( I seem to have every other 'new"drywall tool) so could you explain a little of the learning curve.

part of it is learning how much to wet the drywall down and how long to wait after you get it wet. You go to put in a patch with new drywall that is unpainted against a piece that is painted and they soak up water differently. So the new piece is ready to crimp in, the painted not.
Other than that you make the patch a little too big or too loose and the tool wants to fall in between the pieces.
Those kind of things you have to learn.

Funny thing is....not one video of operation on either their website or you-tube that I could find.
