Here's a little church, most wood.

Re: Yesterday and today
Mark, That place is busy. Awesome workmanship.
I love the way you can turn the camera view in any direction and zoom in. All high resolution here on my screen. Just about as good as being there.
I can't figure out what the website is. Do they have other places photographed like that? I can go on vacation right here at home! How about some classical Greek or Roman stuff? Egypt? Hook me up!

Re: Yesterday and today
Good one.
While Mr. Nakashima would be proud of the trend he started, I am not a fan of the "live edge". I think it's great for lumber stores though, they can get a premium without all the messy time consuming work of sizing and grading those planks. Call it "live edge" slab ready for a table or a bench and you are set to go.

Re: Yesterday and today
I would be embarrassed to have either of the tables shown in the OP in my house. They are both gaudy as hell.
Live edge table tops can be beautiful in form and require craftsmanship and creativity in construction they can also be butt ugly, you can find examples of good or bad design in any form.

Re: Yesterday and today
Who cares what the piece itself looks like. The real crime is that the grain in the maple is so gorgeous, it should have been made into a stradivarious instead of a boot bench.
