parts list for dw744 guard conversion
I have an older 744 table saw and need to get the parts list to convert it to the new style blade guard. Does anybody have the list? Thanks

Wasn't aware it was convertible.
If it is, I'll covert mine.

Re: parts list for dw744 guard conversion
HI All, I tried to do this conversion on my 745 a few years ago and found that it wouldn't work as the design of the riving knife was different enough that it couldn't be bolted to the existing mount. I've since sold the saw but if I recall correctly the original guard used two bolts to connect it to the mounting block, whereas the riving knife has a curved slot in which one bolt goes thru. The riving knife is also sandwiched between the mounting block and another block that the bolt is connected to.
The riving knife, guard, and kick back pawls cost me $60.00 from DeWalt and while they didn't fit on my 1st generation 745, I recently tried the parts on my 10" Makita 1804. with a little cutting and grinding on the riving knife the parts mounted perfectly. the pawls bite on the table a little when lowering the blade but I'll find a way to fix that. I hope this has been helpful. Carlosglazier
