Joseph, that Makita is the biggest badist one on the block. I love mine. Why would you need one heavier than that one?

Hi Kent .Ahh ,under load the shoe pops out . Yeah it is a bad dude .I like that it gets down to it even with a dull blade .
I did more reading on others and it is still the one and mine is working just fine .Thanks for replying

I have one of those Makita AVTs. Juicy 15amp motor, but the shoe is a weak POS - ruins an otherwise a good saw.

It is like they did not design it for such a beating .The shoe might be fine on a small saw ,one with less get up and go.

They screwed up and gave it that adjustable design which is the issue. It doesn't need to be adjustable.

Same here. I love the Makita but the shoe is a big hassle.

I have an old Hilti that is the size of the Mikita.yeah,it is heavy but it powers through most everything the adjustable shoe is irritating because it does come loose.

Re: who has the biggest recipcating saw
The the Porter-Cable Tiger saw is a nice saw but mine is relegated to cutting drywal, when I need a real sawsall I get out the Makita AVT it is a beast. The only time I have trouble with the shoe is when I lose my grip on the saw and it bounces on whatever is being cut.
