    Default Low line laser

I need a laser capable of projecting a horizontal line 1" above the floor. Does anyone know of such thing?

Have you looked at any of the little torpedo laser; seems like mine all fall in the ~3/4" range and would be simple to raise. I think the the PC one with leveling base was just about that high.

Haha, no, I don't mean a line from the laser to the wall. I mean a horizontal line ON the wall in front of you, like a PLS2 or PLS180, for example. Doesn't have to be a full 180 degrees, but more than 90.

This is the lowest I can find, no dimension for above deck height given.

Check with the AHJ, what we say doesn't matter.

I have the Robotoolz RT-7715-2 crossline laser. I believe it is now sold as the Bosch GLL2-50. It is the lowest one I could find at the time with the horizontal line 1-3/16" above the base.

The shorter range Robotoolz was much higher as were most others. It was redesigned when it became the Bosch GLL2-40 so the horizontal laser now hangs below the vertical laser like the GLL2-50. It looks like it might be even lower than 1-3/16".

Mark, thanks, that little Johnson is a darling, looks a bit like a cross between a Pitot tube and a rifle scope :) Yes it is a torpedo, I stand corrected. Never seen one like that before.

The Bosch looks like it will do what I want. Thanks guys.

I have the Bosch GLL 2-50, and I just checked and it's about 1-3/16" from the bottom of the unit to the center of the laser beam. If you are trying to project a reference line lower than that, you can always lock the laser and tilt it down, and then manually level the line...

You could also shoot the line higher, measure and transfer marks down, then snap lines. I've done this for a reference line for a self leveling pour.

Many things. Looking at basement slabs to see how far out of flat and level, reference for leveling pour like Hans said, reference for shower mud decks, stuff like that. Occasionally to see (and show client) how far out of level a floor has sagged.

Have you looked at the Bosch GSL2 surface laser?

Yes I have. I have no use for it.
