Last year we built some cabinetry for a couple in Somerville, MA, including a walnut countertop for a vanity. The finish is peeling; we think it needs to be scraped or sanded down and refinished. The initial finish was water-based poly. We're thinking that the new finish should be more durable but we're open to product ideas.

Does anyone have a suggestion for a finisher who might do this work? When I lived there I used a guy in JP (Abdu Joof) but it's been over ten years. It's a 2.5 hour drive from our office so we'd like to find someone local if possible.
