pinner repair question
hey all, I have a cadex pinner that won't reset the driver. It will shoot once and then I have to open up the nose and push the driver back for it to shoot again.
Anyone have any suggestions? It has probably only fired about 500 pins. I *think* normally there is a valve from the trigger that sends air back in to the bore to reset the driver? From what I can tell, the driver is not bent and getting stuck.

Re: pinner repair question
Ok, I found an older thread with a similar problem. Sound like my driver o-ring might be worn out. Will see if I can find something locally that will work, or will have to order one.

Re: pinner repair question
No advice here. I'm just troubled to hear that. I picked up a 21 gauge last year and hasn'haven't run many through it. Could it be this vicious child we're having? FormaDoesn't seen like you should be having problems.

Re: pinner repair question
I am a little surprised that it isn't working too. I probably don't oil it as much as I should.
I did get it working by taking it apart and cleaning it up, oiling it well, and firing it a few times. Will probably order some new o-rings for it since it sounds common. I actually put a few drops of power steering fluid and conditioner in it. That might have swelled the o-rings enough to get it to work.

I didn't get it either, but didn't want to ask. :)

Re: pinner repair question
I figured you meant cold, especially being in MN too. It has been acting up for a few months, probably all the way back to last summer. I got it working, but ordered a couple o-rings for the future anyway.

Re: pinner repair question
I had the same problem with the Grex gun that is basically the same gun. Mine too seemed to wear out with out much use. I went ahead and ordered a new piston and O ring. It's been work fine now for close to two years. I'm not sure if just the ring would have fixed it.
good luck

Re: pinner repair question
A little oil goes along way to avoiding the o ring problems. A drop or two a day is all it takes.
