Window heat pumps
Interested in feedback from anyone using them. Any brands. Units in the 10-15,000 BTU range.
Particularly interested in the performance (or lack thereof) in heat mode at low outside temperatures.

Re: Window heat pumps
I have a Fujitsu mini-split. It is a very good unit. It is 12,000btu cooling, and 18,000 heating. Will run down to 5-degrees F. However does not have a auto shutoff. I think it will run at lower temp. This is not a window unit but a split system. Very seldom does primary heat run in my house.(Two story Cape-Cod) R-40 ceilings R-19 walls.

Re: Window heat pumps
Thanks Harford, I may look into those if I can't get enough info on window units.
Question: How do they get 50% more heating capacity then cooling? Is part of that heating capacity electric resistance heat?
