A finished under-deck
I wanted to link this thread in Exterior Details here because i wanted to start a discussion about proportions, solid PVC trim techniques and overall finish design.

The structural issues that had to be overcome first were extensive.
The ledger had to be reinforced.
All the joists had to be doubled up to support a span of nearly 16'
The I-Joist floor system had to be properly supported where I attached the deck structure with tie-ins
The posts had to be cut out of the patio and replaced using proper caps and bases. They were 4" out of plumb on a height of 9'
The railing posts had to be bolted and tied in. They were all just toe nailed, as were the tops of the support posts.
The original column cladding consisted of PVC corner boards, but MDO panels and WindsorOne panel moulds. Applied directly to the PT posts with no air space.
After that, the deck needed to show a scale that better complemented the large house it was attached to.
If you have questions, please ask. if you have critiques, please share them. This was my first project of this size utilizing strictly PVC as a finish material. The Deck is approximately 1000+SF.
Thanks, and I look forward to a healthy discussion.
