    Default MirkaCeros Sander

My Festool sander died and I sent it in for repair. Estimate cam back withing $50 of buying new. Well, I had tried a Ceros at one of the shows in the spring. I purchased the six inch sander with the 5 inch pad and the vac attachments.

I used it hooked up to my Fein vac and I AM VERY PLEASED. The dust collection is excellent, the tool is light, particularly with the 5 inch pad in place, and it is quiet. It makes less noise than my Fein vac. I have used it with Mirka net sanding discs, with standard Klingspore discs and with the left over Festool discs. I have sanded glue ups and overhead, with the 5 inch set up. I used it with grits from 50 to 400 and after 6 months of use I am happy.

Have you checked out the Ceros vac hose? Much more maneuverable than the Festool hoses. I have been using my Ceros for over a year now, it is my go to sander. My other favorite is the Mirka hand sanding block (with vac attachment) and interface pad for all edges. 150 grit Abranet lasts forever and a light final pass gets most of the dust left behind.

No I haven't tried the Ceros hose, Kevin, but now I will. Thanks.

Yes, the Ceros hose and especially the Mirka hand sanding block/hose and Abranet. Best hand sanding setup by far, no competition.

This is just a follow up to my original post. i have been using the CEROS extensively these past two months and I am really pleased that it handles so well. The Abranet lasts so well and the Abranet HD is terrific. I did get the Ceros Hose and as mentioned here it is great, easy to maneuver and doesn't tangle like the Festool did.
