We have a lot of 100 yr old old mill buildings from when textiles where in business here. Looks like that building was similar. We have one burn down here every 4 months or so. They are so old, the way the buildings are designed, chemicals, wood flooring, etc. they never even try to save them. They are always total losses that burn to the ground. It really is not possible to stop those fires unless there are sprinklers which there never are.

See the other thread - Dan says his building did have sprinklers.

According to news reports the sprinklers have not functioned for a long time.

I looked into setting up an account where contributions could be sent. After looking at the requierments for this, I decided that it would not be the easiest path.

If anyone wishes to make a contribution, PM me, I will give you my address. I will make certian that Dan recieves anything and everything sent for him.

If you choose to send a check, make it out to Chicago Green Windows. I'll get tools to him also if that is the path you choose.

I only check the forum at 5-5:30 AM, last look is at about 11:30 PM.
