We don't have that supplier in my area. I will check out the Whitecap supplier.

    Thank you

I poured some water in the trough on the brick ledge a couple of hours ago. I just went and checked it and there is still a little water standing in the trough. The water has clearly wicked up the brick ledge but not to the point to where I can tell the bottom plate is getting wet.

Needless to say, I am not real happy about this.

I am thinking of calling the concrete contractor in the morning and letting him know I think this is going to cause a problem. Seems like since the sidewalk is integral that the concrete slab is more or less on grade on that side of the building. Am I correct in my thinking?

If so, what would be the proper way to take care of this issue? Do I just tell the guy it is not right, and cite an IBC code, and ask him to rectify the problem? Or is this my baby now?

Thanks again for your help. I am getting pretty frustrated with feeling like I have to look over other people's work to make sure it is correct.

building-010.jpgI have attached a photo that illustrates my idea of cutting out and removing the concrete. This will get rid of the trough and hopefully solve a lot of what is wrong with the brick ledge.

    What do you think?

Should this be the concrete contractor's obligation or should I suck it up and do this myself? In case it matters, I hired a metal building company to build the building and they hired the concrete company to form the slab. The metal building company gave me a total price but after the job started they asked me to pay the concrete contractor directly.

This is what I am talking about!

Here we have someone who whats pro advice and has nothing to give.

Sure, maybe some cookies or a pecan pie but not much else.

And while some may think this is a good exercise in problem solving it is just an indulgence.

Move on, there is nothing to see here.

    MBR is back!
