Where is that thread about the Dewalt Miter stand with the auxiliary top/legs/crown
Yesterday, on a whim, I purchased the DW716 and the Compact miter stand.
It seems like I remember some of the auxiliary setups on this forum, where somebody set up the dewalt stand with a top, crown stops, and legs to help support the arms when fully extended. I haven't had any luck with the search function, a little help please?

I believe there was an article in This Is Carpentry recently which was an reimagination of a stand mod that Gary Katz has on his site. I copied the one on Gary's site and it works fine but I need to create quicker attach points.

I was the one that mentioned I did it with the dewalt stand. Mine however sits on the extended arms. Not very fancy just plywood and a mount so I can bolt it to my saws factory accessory mounting holes.

Re: Where is that thread about the Dewalt Miter stand with the auxiliary top/legs/cro
The thread may be in finish carpentry. I built something like what you're talking about for my saw stand, it happens to be a ryobi stand, I think it's pretty similar to the dewalt. I love the material support and the drawers, I can't imagine going back to the old stand. I need to get some longer bolts for the aux leg adjustments, or somehow make those legs more sturdy- I find myself using the wings as work tables all the time.
