Quality Range Hoods?
Hello,
Starting to search for a good range hood under $300 (if they exist). Hoping to get recommendations for manufacturer names.
This home is all electric, no fuel burning appliances.
Thanks in AdvanceLast edited by hank mavery; 06-18-2012 at 10:35 PM.

Re: Quality Range Hoods?
Some Broan fans that I like call for ducting that is 7" round.
The local supply house only sells 2' lengths of 7" round galvanized duct.
Is this typical or do I need to go to a bigger town to find longer lengths?
Thanks,
Hank

Re: Quality Range Hoods?
I installed a 7"-->8" transition right above the hood and ran 8" up and out. I don't know that I've ever seen a 7" wall cap or roof cap, although there must be at least a few kinds available. There are many options in 8".

Re: Quality Range Hoods?
Short sections means more seams and more seam sealing. I plan to install the 7" duct inside of insulated flex duct, but I will still want to seal the seams.

Not sure if you have an Excelsior near you;

They have 7" x 10' sections.
