Split collar drill stops
I need a set. The only ones I can find are this type:
http://www.woodcraft.com/product/200...s7-pc-set.aspx
They suck. Not enough give to open up and/or clamp down well. Anyone have a different set that works well? I'm guessing a fully-split would work better. Either a hinge on one side or 2 clamping bolts.

Re: Split collar drill stops
Thanks. They look like the Woodcraft ones. Are they actually better?

I've never used them. I just knew they sold them.

[QUOTE=dgbldr;659255]Well in that case....
Blue tape. Or a portable drill stand. Or them cheap little red plastic collet's. Or... the Fuller's {largest size range afik} and put some self stick UHMW like 3m 5425 on the contact side. Can do it with the splits but it doesn't hold up as well unless you split it too.Food for thought: "Man is the only animal that can remain on friendly terms with the victims he intends to eat until he eats them."

Re: Split collar drill stops
Actually the little red (cheap) plastic "chucks" work passably well for me. The only issue is that the "jaws" stick out past the "chuck" and they get trashed by making contact at high speed.
Bottom line I think the better solution are split collars that are fully split on both sides, if anyone makes such thing.
