Re: New forum format
The full text search index has been rebuilt. All content is now available to the Forums search engine. Also, we've tried to improve the truncation and breaks in the Today's Posts and New Posts pages. We're trying to set off the signature block with a different background and perhaps smaller font. Stay tuned. As somebody else mentioned, the display of signatures can be turned off completely in your Settings.

Re: New forum format
I have a couple of more suggestions for the site, don't know how much difficulty is involved.
1. the location header at the top (Forum=>JLC-Online Peer-to-Peer=>Trade Talk=>New Forum Format) needs to be a bit bigger, it kind of gets lost at the current point size.
2. maybe you could make the navigation through pictures have additional function with the arrow keys. Since most of the pics posted are of different size, the "NEXT" button is always moving and many times you kick yourself out of the pictures and have to click back in. I do like that one can post more pictures now, but that little bit of keyboard functionality would go a long way.

Re: New forum format
I'd say after a little getting used to, that overall the changes have positive.

Re: New forum format
I agree....
but for me its a lot harder to read. Its better as Admin posted earlier about the truncation of the page. I still have to increase the font with my scroll wheel mouse (my choice) at different settings for different pages to make it comfortable for me. I increase on other sites too but can leave it alone indefinitely. It has cut down on my experience here and I've cut back reading posts probably by half.Last edited by Happy Home; 05-05-2012 at 05:42 PM.

Re: New forum format
Admin,
++Nice improvements, faster......thanks.
Couple things:
Paper clip icon over page number sometimes intereferes with page selection. (though can be done if careful)
And, GMT color grey hard to see.........maybe white would be better?
Thanks,
Charlie

Re: New forum format
When you click the new posts icon, the number of replies and views of each thread are no longer displayed. I always found this information helpful in keeping up with "hot" topics. Can it be restored?

Re: New forum format
Didn't read all posts to see if this covered - on iPhone 3GS, the jump to Forum scroll is jerky and will not scroll down past the Electric Shop

NW:
I think I reported earlier that it's jerky on Android, very difficult to control and not worth going there, at least the last time I tried."But one also finds in the human heart a depraved taste for equality, which impels the weak to want to bring the strong down to their level, and which reduces men to preferring equality in servitude to inequality in freedom"

Re: New forum format
An iDevice is an iPhone, iPad, iPod.........................
Did you log into the forum when you tried to post from your iPad? It does not matter if your computer is logged on all the time, you must log in on each device you want to post to the forum from. You can view it without logging in, but you cannot post.
