I'm a little confused on something. As I finish a new computer build, I will be saving music in both mp3 and flac files.

So if I have an on board sound card, I can listen to those files and anthting else such as windows dings and online content by simply using the output from the sound card into an external amp, and play it thru my stereo equipment.

But, do I need another sound card to be able to play music ONLY in the background, and listen to you-tube and other online content? Can you dedicate a sound card strictly to the music files so as to have an office jukebox?
