Festool don't have the tool box version.. Protool do, but I'm sure they are only available in Europe

Thanks, Tom, I had seen the wood inserts before, but I'm not thinking they would fit my needs. Rather, my idea is to attach a couple of open tops to the top of systainer stacks.

I think it would be a big problem if it WAS Festool since each dealer can't ship outside their country.

I've bought a few things that were not available in the US. European prices are more, and you do have freight. You won't have to pay VAT. Last item I bought was the LXT Chainsaw from Toolstop.com in UK. It was $276 including freight and standard shipping got it to me in 3 days, faster than if I bought something from east coast.

BTW, I have refused to do business with Japan Woodworker in the past due to their ripping off the patent of one of the major past contributors to JLC forums, and producing his tool in China, rather than selling the American made version he produces.

Just got the Tanos Toolbox earlier this week and have already been using it a ton. It is a box, with a divider, a handle, and it attaches to systainers. Thats it, review over.

It is in between a sys1 and sys2 when their handles are up.

As you can see it holds a c12 drill and Makita Impact driver very well along with many other items. It helps when you load it up in the beginning of the day and hike it up to the second floor bath remodel youre doing, but after nothing has gone your way and you now have every small tool you own up there, its great to load it up at the end of the day and make one trip instead of fumbling around with ****. It is very lightweight empty, yet looks like it will be able to take some abuse also. If you already have a lot of systainers then it goes great with the system. I have been attaching it to a sys1, full of screws and a sortainer full of small installer tools. that combination is pretty heavy and some of you old timers might want it to be a little lighter if stairs were involved. I did get it from Japan Woodworker, who I found out after words arent very cool, but i would think that more vendors will be picking it up soon. At $50.00, compared to other Festool pricing, theyre practically giving it away, Eric

I have 3 of them now. It's an overpriced plastic box, just like the rest of the Systainer line, but it seems to be the only thing available that makes sense.

I'm still working on a system to organize the tools within it. It's not that great as-is since everything will just lay in a pile at the bottom, but I have hopes of using it as a starting point for something better.

I sure wish the manufacturers would use a little more imagination and put out products that are finished instead of half-baked.

Dan I wish you luck in finding or figuring out what you want. Over my 20 years I have gone thru several incarnations of buckets and tool boxes and trays to carry things in. One of the last for me occured a few years back when I changed cordless tool brands and found out the things were a different size and one or two tools did not fit in the space where the old ones did. So once again I was looking for something.
As far as the makers coming up with something that is probably just too much to ask. Each of us has our own little thing going on and they make something that is going to make a bunch of folks happy by almost working for us. The better than nothing effect.
