Personally I think this is great. No more siding, no more insulation or drywall. I just got rid of three subs.

Well, cars are coming around to my point of view, why not homes?

The two-foot by two- and-a-half foot void that’s created is the biggest opening of any glass roof in the car business, he said, and part of a trend of moon roofs being replaced by so-called panoramic roofs.

The humble sunroof has been morphing over the past decade into a vast, glassy expanse. Panoramic roofs can be found on vehicles from Daimler AG (DAI)’s $423,500 Maybach 62 to a $15,500 Fiat 500 to Nissan Motor Co. (7201)’s new taxi. Dearborn, Michigan-based Ford says more than 80 percent of buyers of the Lincoln MKS sedan choose a dual-panel moon roof with glass over both the front and back seats¹
Many Neanderthals here want to go back to the 19th century, forsaking cars for bicycles, chopping their own wood for heating and cooking, living cooped up in 19th century boxes, or even living in the woods like their green hero Ted Kaczynski. Others of us want to move forward into a more modern freer way of life, interestingly many of the Neanderthals hold up Steve Jobs as a hero, had Jobs outlived the environmentalists trying to stop him from building his dream home he would have lived in a steel and glass home, but the new Apple headquarters will be all steel and glass.

The writer had me going until the following statement:
When informed of Dr. Joe's comment, Ms. Payne replied, "Oh, we love Dr. Rbleuskit. He's been extremely helpful in getting the word out about building science, and we see the work we do as putting his theoretical studies to work in the real world.
Nobody in the upper classes refers to a PhD as "Dr.", a term reserved for practicing physicians, I heard a PhD being interviewed on the radio about his new book, a caller referred to him as "doctor" he responded: "I am not a "doctor", if you have a heart attack I can't help you."

Just the old GM clamshell rear window (1970's station wagons) in reverse. How novel.

I'm not sure who should be more embarrassed, me for being an idiot, or the USGBC for having someone in the industry actually believe they would do such a thing.

Thanks for all the interest in the article. I had fun writing it and seeing that several people actually fell for it at first.

Dick, there were many clues before the one you claim tipped you off, and I'm not sure why you assume the use of 'Doctor' would be the dead giveaway. Most US college and university students refer to their PhD professors as Doctor. (I know that from firsthand experience on both sides of the name-calling.)

Anyway, if you liked that one, check out last year's post:

And speaking of Joe, take a close look at the name of the building scientist in this article: Joe Rbleuskit.
