milwaukee tool problem
bought that big 12 sliding saw less then a year ago .does not cut well .sent up to local tool repair [authorized service center] they sent it back telling me to send it to milwaukee tool .this will cost me 300$ at UPS . This is nuts .I am attempting to get ahold of someone with more authorization to resolve this . But What are my rights -what can I do . Seems like they could just send me a new one at this point .

Re: milwaukee tool problem
I had a Milwaukee tool repaired recently, found out there is a depot near me and UPS'd it there. They called to say there was a maximum repair cost for the tool I sent, no matter what, so they repaired it and returned it for what I felt was a very reasonable amount. I would call the nearest factory service center and ask them what they think. $300 is way too much to ship it, there must be somewhere in the Bay Area.

Re: milwaukee tool problem
they want me to ship it to Anahiem. But i can hand deliver it to fresno or san Diego . At this point those are the only choices being offered . I am trying to see what leverage I can use to get this dealt with .Seems like asking me to pony up 300$ to get an actual working saw is lame .

Re: milwaukee tool problem
Where are you getting $300 to ship? I'm about 20 miles from Anaheim and it cost me less than $50 to ship a 70 pound box to Sacramento.
Do you have the orignal box? Or is a big part of the cost packing it so it can be shipped safely?
On the other issue, you should only be responsible to get it to the nearest authorized repair center. Why can't they deal with it?
Milwaukee Tools is in Wisconsin. What is in Anaheim?

Re: milwaukee tool problem
Saw cuts a snake line .Something you'd expect from a dull blade or a warped blade .
the local service center said they could not fix it ,they told me to send it to milwaukee tool and they will have the parts to replace it .I think they got the run around themselves ,he had it for about two months . The e-service doesn't apply to the mitersaw . So far Milwaukee is saying I pay shipping . Ups wants 200 to ship and 100 to pack .I could make a box ,and wouldn't mind i guess ,but the box will increase shippingweight .Shipping price I was told was based on size and weight .I wonder if there is a cheaper shipping method.

Re: milwaukee tool problem
So it's only a year old? Would seem to me that when you took it to the service center you did your duty and Milwaukee should take it from there. So they can't fix it and somehow it's your responsibility? I'd call Milwaukee and ask for a new saw. When did you buy it?

Joseph,
What if after you spend $300 for shipping, Milwakee returns the saw to you as "fixed" and later you find out that the problem continues?
Something doesn't sound right.
Ask Kreg, he returned his Kapex to Festool 4 times and I think he never paid a dime for shipping. It was under warranty, though.

Re: milwaukee tool problem
I took mine to a factory authorized service center in my podunk town a few times. They took care of everything, that's why it's factory authorized. Sounds like they are passing the buck and you need to talk to Milwaukee.

Re: milwaukee tool problem
You need to find a better repair facility. There HAS to be more than one in a large metro area like yours.
It's absolutely unacceptable for an authorized service center to say they can't fix it and dump it back in your lap. Why can't they fix it specifically?

Yeah but you have a record that it was in there for two months which is bs too.

Just say " my lawyer will be talking with your lawyer" That may raise some red flags
Also if you are on Twitter or some of those other sites, put out what you have been going through with this tool. Mfr's are getting very nervous when not so good info is on the socail media sites.
