Small, quiet compressor?
Need something very portable, quiet as possible too. Don't want Paslode or other cordless. Anyone have something they like? To run 1 gun.

Re: Small, quiet compressor?
What kind of gun ?
I have this one, and I love it. Super quiet, light and doesn't take long to fill
http://www.amazon.com/Senco-PC1010-1...1251393&sr=1-8
I use it primarily for trim work, but the occasional framing job will work as well, as long as you don't need to do a lot of nailing... the tank runs out after about 12 shots.
Still use it almost daily, and I bought it about 3 years ago.Last edited by always-learning; 03-08-2012 at 06:02 PM.

Re: Small, quiet compressor?
Another vote for the tiny senco. I came across one of the small Thomas compressors last summer, much better built, much heavier, much louder. For occasional use, I reach for the senco.

Re: Small, quiet compressor?
I have both of the above.
The PC1010 is great if you want something really light weight. It is quiet and oilless. It will fail if you run it really hard due to overheating but great for light use. Iv'e used it in offices during business hours without much issue. Don't buy it in the kit with the low end Senco gun - they are crap.
The MAC700 weighs about double the PC1010 and is oil lubed. It has more capacity and will run almost continuously without failing. You can also crank up the pressure high enough to fill truck tires. It might be a bit quieter than the PC1010 as it has a lower tone, which is less irritating.

Re: Small, quiet compressor?
Yeah, we've got a MAC700 already. Looking for another small one, figured if I could get smaller and quieter might as well. I'll check out the Senco.

Re: Small, quiet compressor?
Yeah that's the one... Right now my Thomas has been retired from using indoors as its too loud.
I am using a jacpac for the time being till I buy the dewalt. Just waiting for a couple things to sell. ;-)-Sal

Re: Small, quiet compressor?
The MAC700 is quite a bit quieter than the PC1010. I've run them side by side.

Re: Small, quiet compressor?
I really like my rolair jc10, I still can't get over how quiet it is. I use it constantly and it's always overworked but keeps on going. I've done light framing with it as well as 2 guys trimming off of it. The jc10 has a quick refill time and for a little compressor it keeps up well while I blow off my tools at the end of the day.
