  • Running Crown - Double Cope or Slip it in?

Wondering what you guys prefer? Do you like to use a double cope to finish a room or cope the first piece and fit it against a short temporary piece of crown that you pull and slide the last piece of crown in? What say you...

Although "slipping it in" is pretty satisfying too...

Double cope. Tried slipping it in. Once.

Depends if you are the "slipper" or "slippee", I would imagine. :)

Double cope and Precoping, both have their place.

Sorry to bring it into the gutter Kent.

I do seriously like double coping.

Though I've tucked in the last corner on most jobs I can see that double cope would be better. With a snap it in fit it would be a tighter fit. And sometimes those last corners can be a challenge if the coped end has shifted.

                          Just kidding, double cope.

I don't understand why so many guys are limited to one position, I mean, one technique. I get a lot more enjoyment, and I'm able to handle different challenges by using multiple solutions, which is why I think a double cope is great sometimes, and slipping in the last piece is great other times. Why be a missionary.

What's the difference between a piece coped to a piece landed on a wall and 'double coped'?
