ArchaDeck?
Has anybody worked with these guys? I answered an ad for one of the franchises looking for installation contractors and it seems like a decent outfit...just wondering if anyone had any experience working with them. This guy offers 20% of total sale cost just to do the install on decks, pergolas, screen porches. Just show up and work, all permits, plans, materials already taken care of.
There's a difference between living and living well. Know your limits, set your boundries, pray for grace and stand firm.

Re: ArchaDeck?
Since they're a franchise operation, a lot is going to depend on the particular franchisee you're working with/for. Some will probably pay quickly and easily, while others will be harder to deal with. You say they pay a flat 20% of the total sales price for installation, so a lot will depend on how they're pricing the work- if they're pricing it high enough you'll do fine- if they cut the price on a project to get the job (or they just flat out bust a number), the 20% will obviously be lower than it should/could be.

Don't forget when suddenly material costs had an increase; typically after you start the job!

Re: ArchaDeck?
If you want to build decks for 20%, let's talk :)
Another way to look at it: a PT deck and a cedar deck have identical labor but greatly different material costs. It makes no sense to pay vastly different installation costs.
Something doesn't pass the smell test here.Last edited by dgbldr; 02-03-2012 at 04:30 PM.

Re: ArchaDeck?
I would say it's a rotten deal somehow or another.
I pay based on a very complex system of SF, LF, and piece system so the installer is compensated for everything they do very fairly. Just throwing out a percentage is crazy.Your source for:
