Would Mitt make a good POTUS?
I heard Mitt say today (I'm paraphrasing) "...when government picks winners and losers, in developing markets, it dries up venture capitol. Do you think venture capitalists want to go up against a company like Solyndra, if they are getting backed by the government to the tune of $500 million?"

Cool so we can put you down as being in favor of eliminating all subsidies and loan guarantees to private industry??? Rick's in. I'm mostly in.

Re: Would Mitt make a good POTUS?
Mitt will lose to Obama, Newt will lose to Obama, Bachman will lose to Obama.
Ron Paul can beat Obama. He is the only GOP candidate who can. He is leading in the Iowa polls, raising a lot of money, and his supporters know his worth and can't be misled easily. If you don't want Obama, support Ron Paul.Ain't too Proud to Learn

Re: Would Mitt make a good POTUS?
I love Ron Paul but I don't think he's had enough quality time to explain his foreign policy to the mainstream voters. Those 30 second sound bites don't do him any justice in the debates.
Paul may have a very good showing in Iowa but I don't see him getting traction anywhere else. I wish he would. He'd be my first choice in this group.

Video from Today: Neil Cavuto of Fox News says Ron Paul will win Iowa caucus and tells the rest of the media to let the voters be heard! (Today's Video)

Re: Would Mitt make a good POTUS?
Ron Paul couldn't beat obama in Texas, let alone less conservative states. I know you like Paul but really, he is going no where fast. He has no appeal beyond a very small group. In an 8 person primary he would bet x percent of the vote. In a 2 person primary he'd get the same percentage. The more you hear Paul, the more you see how little thought is behind some of his views. He has views that do not extend beyond the initial question. He has no thought, nor does he care, what the results of his decisions would be. A President needs to think beyond the initial question. He is not a person to be taken seriously.
Also, Paul has no experience in his life to be President. We've seen what someone with no experience (nor ability) gets us. Paul would be better than Obama but slightly better than terrible is not someone we want.

Re: Would Mitt make a good POTUS?
to answer your original question, would mittens make a good potus, the answer is no, he is one of two candiates that the gop could put up that would leave me no choice but to vote for barry. At least barry is true to his core beliefs, they are way, way to the left of my libertarian leanings, but at least he is true to them, at his core mittens believes gubament is the answer to peoples problems, whether or not it is gubament heavy (barry) or gubament a little lighter (mittens) if gubament is the answer, you are asking the wrong question

Re: Would Mitt make a good POTUS?
I don't see Mitt as having core convictions. He's a good talker, but so is Clinton. If Mitt cannot even say Obama is a socialist, he's got serious problems with getting to the heart of any issue. I don't want a good white-washer for a president. Also, Mitt can call Newt all sorts of names, but can't call Obama what he really is. Sounds like a republican establishment RINO for sure, that is oh so ever careful not to tick off the liberals, ooops, I mean moderates.

Re: Would Mitt make a good POTUS?
I did not know Paul endorsed Cynthia McKinney. Paul is odd in many areas. No person could justify an endorsement of the biggest nut to ever step foot in public office. McKinney is a seriously disturbed person, regardless of her political leanings.

Yeah but you know the d's in the legislature have 90% of the seats so they run everything and have for decades.
