Default VLO stock might be fast money

Been in VLO for a while. Some news/rumor that might be lucrative to all my fellow JLC gamblers.

    Allan:

What are you hearing about the Canadian pipeline to the gulf coast, is it coming to the Houston area? Obama was here Tuesday raising money again for the umpteenth time and the majority of the protestors were protesting the pipeline, interesting that the pro-marijuana groups ally with the anti-oil groups.

More than a thousand protesters crowded the area around Third and Howard streets hoping to catch the president's eye, but the motorcade came and went from the W Hotel from the east side, offering only a glimpse at best.

Though many causes were represented, the majority of protesters were there either to decry the Keystone XL pipeline -- planned to carry oil from Alberta, Canada's tar sands to refineries as far south as Texas -- or to urge the president to halt federal prosecutors' recent crackdown on California's medical marijuana dispensaries.

"I just hope that Obama heard us," said protester Jan McKim, 63, of San Carlos, who was carrying a "Stop Keystone XL" sign.

Inside, the president addressed 200 contributors; although the minimum ticket price previously was believed to be $7,500, a Democratic fundraising source told a pool reporter Tuesday that the floor was $5,000.¹
If this comes to the Houston area will it be a big boost for your economy?

I have not heard much about this but then I really don't associate much with oil and gas people, unless they want a house built :)

I think it would terminate in Port Arthur, which is 50 miles or so southeast of Houston. I'm sure it would help our economy some.

By the way, the stock market went ballistic today, Andy's stock is up 50% in the last 3 weeks. Did you take his advice?

Dow soared 339 on Thursday, crashed 573 the last two days. The stock market has been nothing short of Sybil the last few months.

The day you posted this VLO was $26.70 per share, today it was $22.27. It's very difficult to pick individual stocks.

Very nice jump in the DOW, up 7-1/4% this week.

    OK, here's my pick:

    BPOP

Recently at $1.90, closed today at $1.49, down to $1.44 after hours. I'd get out after a 10% gain and re-evaluate.

    Gambling's fun!

Yeah, I'd look to get into BPOP at $1.40 and sell at $1.54 for your 10% annual gain.

Of course, this financial advice is worth exactly what you paid for it...

I'm up about an average of 40% on my three holdings. Pulte, KB and Dr Horton. The charts look strong on all three. I'm only worried if the entire market rolls over again.

Keep a stop-loss order in place. Maybe 10% below?

My stop loss kicked in at 25.50, I did pick up more of it last week, looking for 24.50 now. I like roller coaster stocks like this. Sometimes its a week , sometimes its a couple months but theres usualy a good 5 to 8% to pick up. In again at 21.65. Like i said Gambling!!

I lost a few on those and don't track them anymore but nice going. Not much diversity but good move. Congratulations.
