Default paper thin wall panels shower stall

Got a barging on3 Bath Basics Economy NEO Angle Corner Shower kits but opening the boxes the plastic wall panels are almost paper thin. The glass doors are great quality the pan is ok. So whats up paper thin walls is this the norm considering a backer board like fiber cement then thin wall finishes? Also read about the new foam with rigid skin for backer boards but the article stated $120 for a 1/2" by 4' by8' sheet -kungpow thats a bit $$.

You get what you pay for.

The thin walls are the norm and the cheap Neo-angles are a POS IMO... I installed 2 in my day and will never install another.

Thanks. OI got the $450. units for a Mir fraction of the cost an mostly for the glass doors. Was just wondering if with backer board used verses the old drywall method, is the need for thicker wall plastic any longer needed?
