I guess I haven't been keeping up on this subject lately.

Besides the initial cert which provides you with your NAT #, are we now required to do more ?

If so, please elaborate. Most appreciated. !

I'm not sure, Chuck. I remember hearing something about the lead testing cerftificate, but I've been putting off the RRP stuff and working on Post 1978 stock. Got a few promising leads for work on possible lead homes, so it's time for me to get certified. Dean, or someone else decently versed, are the additional courses necessary?

for RRP, you only need the Renovator Cert. Also, the firm needs the firm cert.

    Jay and Dean.....
(sounds like a rock and roll group from the 1950's)

An email was sent to me with this information in it. Wound up in my junk bin. A firm sent it to me trying to get me to sign up and pay for these other certifications.

Seems as though someone is telling us that in NJ, we need EXTRA CERTIFICATIONS to be safe. Maybe I need a giant condom that I can wear to my client's homes. Wouldn't be the first time I was called a Dick....

If you perform ANY activity that disturb surfaces that contain lead-based paint in pre-1978 multiple dwellings (more than 3 residential units)...

You must have ALL workers who disturb surfaces containing lead-based paint certified under:

EPA RRP Rule - 8-hour Renovator Initial (or 4-hour refresher with proof
    of previous lead training)

    AND

    NJAC 5:10-6.6(g) One-Hour Training

Unlike the RRP Rule, which allows for one certified-renovator and other trained workers on site, NJCA 5:10-6.6 does not allow this provision, requiring ALL workers to be certified under both regulations

Thanks for the info. Not familiar with NJ, so it wouldn't surprise me. I realize that some cities and/or states take multifamily residences more seriously.
