Anyone have any info about Crystal Lake near Deposit ?
Looked at lake house there yesterday, looking for anything pertinent.

My late mother had a cottage at a bungalow colony at Kiamesha Lake about 15 miles away. Lots of Hasidic camps and the last remnants of the Golden Age of the Borscht Belt mixed with typical upstate rural. Announcements at Walmart are in el Espanol y Ingles.

Way North of me, but I used to travel route 17 regularly. Only pertinent info I can give you is drive the speed limit. Route 17 is notorious for speed traps all over.

Thanks ! Well aware.
When I'm traveling in "strange territory" I set the cruise for the speed limit and run in the slow lane. I noticed a plethora of troopers on the way up last week, either writing a ticket or hiding behind bridge abutments. Those 55 mph zones were a pita.SteveC
