    Default 2010 Black Friday Deals

    Looks like they're starting early...

In addition to the Multimaster deal posted in another thread, Amazon has a few other deals up, including a Hitachi 10" miter saw for $99, a Triton version of the Jawhorse for $100, & a few other things...http://www.amazon.com/gp/b/ref=pe_12...0/?node=760330

That's an amazing deal on the Fein - I've got an old tooled version that's lost its grip - may have to break down and get this one. If anyone has been hesitating, I would grab this - the MM is indeed one of those tools you can't imagine how getting along without once you have it, and this kit is generally at least $100 more.

Looks like it's a pretty basic kit - no case, minimal blades - but a killer price.

Rockler has a few good deals for the week Nov 26th to Dec 3, pretty good minimum quantities at each store too. I just received the snail mail ad this past weekend.

One good one is the Vika workbench/scaffolding for $99. Great portable workbench, one person staging. I replaced mdf top on my and made it into a type of MFT like the festool one, and mounted in a few kreg plates for the bench clamp. It's definitely a good set up to have and collapses to nothing.

Could you post a picture of your setup, Hoover? Sounds like a great idea.

Pretty simple. I just replaced the 1/4" or 1/2" top that it comes with, with a 3/4" piece of mdf and set up two kreg plates (I made them from some scrap aluminum) for the bench clamp and the series of holes similar to an MFT. It doesn't work as well as an MFT though. There are metal ribs that run across the frame of the set up. As you can see from my pic, I didn't pay attention to that with one row and those holes fall right on the top of the rib so they are useless. The others were laid out better and work fine. Where the ribs run side to side across the width of the table, I use the festool clamps in that direction so they don't hit the ribs. I also leave the scaffolding side on there so I don't use the clamps from below.

The set up isn't perfect for everything but the size, portability, etc. it works well for most things. I got mine when costco was closing them out or whatever and they were $70 (if I remember correctly). It's still a nice set up for $99.

Do your own door prep? Porter-Cable 517 Lock Face Template is 79% off. Regularly $443.86, on sale for $92.73. That very well may qualify as a smokin' deal.

I've had that thing in my cart for months, watching the price steadily drop. I was going to post it here after I bought one. My experience is that once the lookers come along, the price rises. Let's see what happens. ;o)

If you'd been listening last night, you could have gotten in on the deal. That's just like you - you never listen to anything I say!
