New Truck/New Logo
Got a new truck about a month ago. Just got back from getting the lettering done. The logo is slightly different from the last on but not so much that I'll lose any brand recognition. I think it cam out great!

Just one more. It's a little bright out today and the trucks all shinny. :)

That's the Vermont "EMP" number. It's a lead safe certification you need to work in Vermont on pre 78 homes and child occupied facilities. Similar to RRP but with some slight differences. Mostly no power sanding/grinding tools at all and a 1 sf rule. Also landlords must have their places inspected by a certified EMP person each year or be certified themselves.

Re: New Truck/New Logo
Thanks guys. I love it! The wheel base is much longer on this one and it rides really nice. It's got the 5.2 engine in it and the towing package.
We got a 29' tow behind camper this year and it handles it great. No sway bars needed. Also, my 2 boys are 13 and 14 now and I don't feel their knees in the back of my seat any more. :Bonus:
It's getting about 18 MPG around town with high test in it, 24 on the highway, and about 12 pulling the camper. It's a multi fuel too so I can run straight ethanol if I can ever find it. I think it can run on Jet fuel too.

Re: New Truck/New Logo
That E85 capability may come in handy.
A few years ago, one gas station near the rich Georgetown area in DC started selling E85.
We get all kinds of strange things here due to all the politicians & staffers, like radio ads with people having conversations about whether the Boeing or EADS tanker makes more sense, that kind of thing. I figured that ADM or whoever had paid for a gas station near some senators's houses to sell E85 just to make some kind of point.
Also, at the time gas was $2.75...and E85 was $2.83...I thought the whole thing was hilarious, why on earth did we need E85 if it's more than gas...?
Well, you can probably guess what happened within the year. I drove by the station one day, gas was $4.00/gallon and it was costing me $85 a fillup, and E85 was still for sale...and it was still $2.83...man was I jealous! I hope we don't go back to crazy prices for gas, but if we do, you'll have it all over the rest of us.
My ford Escape Hybrid doesn't take E85, but I'm averaging 37 MPG so it's OK.Doug

Re: New Truck/New Logo
nfz
as i read it your lead rules say no sanding or grinding lead paint off
if your rules are that tough then burning or heating the gear off is beyond criminal
how do you deal with lead paint under these circumstances
is it "encapsulation" ? ie painting over it and hoping the problem will go away ?????
my question isnt a joke
that is how some local authorites are dealing with lead paint here. what are they doing?
very simple.............. hiding the problem so they can tick boxes
it means future generations have to remove the lead and they can lie safe in their beds with the comment, i did my job, like i was told, i covered it up
the nazi's used the same argument at nurenburgLimey Carpenter

Re: New Truck/New Logo
Tom,
Burning lead paint is a no no for Vermont and RRP. You can still remove the paint with heat below 400 degrees or chemicals. Steam is another option. Hand scraping and sanding is another. Only mechanical sanding and grinding is prohibited.Last edited by No faux zone; 08-20-2010 at 08:19 AM.
