Baltimore
Is anybody going to the RemodelingShow/DeckExpo in September?? Downtown Baltimore has a lot of stuff going on right outside the convention arena so you don't get trapped with crappy concession food and nothing to to in down time like in Chicago.

Re: Baltimore
Chuck, my best friends resides just outside C town. I like the city, it's McCormick Place / Lakeside I could do without. Closest non-bedbug hotel is 2 miles away gotta travel far for the great food available in downtown area. What's with the mother ship landing on the Parthenon ???. That's all bruthu ;-)

I got a free pass from my Andersen rep for the day Thursday so he and I are going to go down for at least that day, maybe come down Wednesday and take in some seminars that day too.

Re: Baltimore
Phil,
I'll give you the Soldier Field statement, brings a tear to my eye every time I drive by it. A shame what was done to such a majestic place. IIRC it lost its historical landmark status due to the abomination.
McCormick Place is just in the wrong place, at this time. It is the location of mine and my wife's first date, was supposed to see Harry Chapin, alas it was set up night for the World of Wheels. Chapin in the Arie Crown Theater, us across in the main hall. I still have the tickets. Harry's gone, the World of Wheels is no held longer there, still have the LOML after 35 years. If she was smart she would have run then.
Chicago needs to figure out how to do some of their expos/conventions on Navy Pier, that would be hard to beat anywhere.
If you wish, next time you're in the area let me know. Maybe dinner on The Mag Mile.

Re: Baltimore
Sure Tom,
The last time I was in Chicago, I found this chinese/Thai place that was great, and of course so was House of Blues. I want to take my kids to the museum of Science and Industry too.
Yeah, That's what I was getting at about McCormick Place. I like the city though. ;-)

Re: Baltimore
had thought about heading there but trying to decide if the money is going to be there. It looks like the time will be there since it is already looking like a bit slower than I would like it to be for this fall and winter. Kind of hard to spend the money at this time but I am trying to think that it may be a good investment. Just have to convince myself and the checkbook.

Re: Baltimore
anyone in the know about how they pick where the shows are held? Seems that between Baltimore and Providence that the north east is pretty well covered. I do already know that there is a bit more population in a smaller space than some of the spread out Midwest but come on-we need someplace to go too!
Must be feeling a little left out that the midwest does not get a bit more attention.
