possible EPA class in St Louis
I just got a notice that some training may be coming to St Louis in March. I need to check to see if it is something that anyone interested in taking can get into. As I understand it now it is being presented by the painters union so I do not know if it is open to everyone or not. I plan on making some calls tomorrow to see who it is open to.
Stay tuned for an update tomorrow.

Re: possible EPA class in St Louis
Anyone interested in taking a EPA lead renovator's class in the St Louis area you have a chance. The class is March 19. I checked with the painter's union that is bringing in the teachers and doing the seminars. I was told it was opened to union/non union folks, anybody that needs the classes until the classes are filled up. Cost is $250.
You can go and sign up at www.connorinstitute.com. I did it last night and if I remember it right you look under services which then goes to training. They must teach a bunch of different classes so the one they have coming is the full day renovator class. I know nothing else about the classes, do not get a kick back if you sign up. Just wanted folks to know that there is going to be a way to get trained now.

Beware: I took the class here in NY and didn't realize until the class got underway that you also have to apply for a firm license with the EPA which cost another $300 .

Phil, I knew that there was that $300 coming up. I guess it is part of the stimulus bill by contractors.
As I read it there is also another amount due to the state of Missouri to do the work. I need to check if it is for all jobs or just for jobs with government money involved.
