We can send a crew down on Monday to do a site assessment and look at any workable plans that exist. :) Lots that have been deleted.

Re: Have a client in Alabama.
Rick
I could not get your link to open. I have never heard of that place, but then I know very little about Alabama. Is finding contractors part of your role on this job? I wonder if there is a local HBA or even other local architects you could talk to.
One part of my business model is to restrict my work to an area 10-15 minutes from my office. I have been asked before to bid homes a bit out of town, maybe an hour or so away, and I've always turned them down. In this market, maybe I need to reconsider? If I could get a job large enough for a full or close to full time project manager, maybe it would be worth considering. But not Alabama :)"We are going to relentlessly chase perfection, knowing full well we will not catch it, because nothing is perfect. Yeah, I've been telling him that for years, I don't know how he builds anything without an airplane, he could write off a little Lear Jet and the IRS would hardly notice, especially if he built Rick's house in Alabama.

I couldn't get the link to work either. I've built projects all over this country. I'll take a look at the project for you.
Besides, my brother has been on me to get a lear jet for years. lolIt is a simple matter of being patient. I do patience very well, except for the waiting part. That's the one aspect of patience that still bites me.

I'm suprised the link doesn't work. If the link works to my website perhaps you can find it by looking for this house.
Anniston, Al is about half way between Birmingham and Atlanta. It's about 100,000 population.

How about it Rick, are you seeing buyers downsize?

Looks like Wieland is about 1/3 the company they were at the peak.
Two years ago, closely held Wieland was building 1,800 houses a year in posh subdivisions in Georgia, Tennessee and the Carolinas, selling for an average of $650,000 apiece. Today, the company is closing on just 600 homes annually, according to Wieland. It has slashed staff to 330 employees from 1,100.

That doesn't supprise me.
When I lived in Atlanta Wieland was sort of like a lower quality producer of David Weekly type homes.
When I was in The Woodlands Weekly produced a better product IMO than Wieland did on the East Coast.

Re: Have a client in Alabama.
I've done work for Wieland. It wasn't to organized and pretty much was a free for all with little to no supervision over the subs.
