Leica D2/D3 Users?
Hey Guys,
which one should I get? Is it worth the extra money to spend to get the D3 over the D2? I read some reviews and everyone likes BOTH...Im not sure...Ive looked at other brands and am still open to them except the Bosch...everything I read everyone is annoyed by that one..Because it does not read in Inches/fractions. That seems like its annoying. The price is great though. Any thoughts? (I know there has been thread on the before, Im looking for updates) ;)

Re: Leica D2/D3 Users?
the 3 is very good I have the stabilia that stores 10 measurement and also can read inches or feet and inches etc. the new stabilia also has a corner hook and I think they run around 225-250 stabilia ld is the better one and holds last 10 also does a diagonal deal to check for squarenees.. google it or go to the stabilia website to explain this cool deal. buteither one are great and if you do not have a laser measure yet... yoou will love it

Re: Leica D2/D3 Users?
The new Bosch DLR 130K has four Measurement Systems - Inches, feet and inches, decimal feet and metric so they fixed that. Unfortunately, they didn't quite fix it all the way because when you save a measurement to the memory it will only display that saved measurement in decimal feet or meters when you retrieve it. Personally, that's not a deal breaker for me. I'll just write my measurements down if I am taking more than one at a time just like I always have.
Still, it does a lot of cool things and you can get one for $99.00 shipped from Amazon.
I also really like its very compact size. I have no idea why many of those other high dollar laser measurers are so large.

I think your right kreg, that new stabila is pretty sweet looking. It seems to be exactly like the Leica D2

Re: Leica D2/D3 Users?
arch, it is sweet, I saw it last year at jlc live when they first came out and it is very nice and will serve you well and it is reasonable priced. heck I bought one of the pls back about 7 years ago and paid 0 about 500 bucks for it. I did a lot of fences back then and it only took 2 min to measure a fence. then I bought the hilti smaller one for 350. for more inside stuff. so the prices have come down and the product is much better and more features.
so. decision made.... why are you still sitting their? you need to go to the tool store now!!!!

Re: Leica D2/D3 Users?
ok I orderd the Stabila! I was torn between the lieca and Stabila..It came down to Stabila has more info about their product online. Videos, Manuals, Better advertising ;) Plus they havea rally good Reputation for taking care of their customers etc. I really like the lieca D3 but its was $350.00 D2 on ebay was going for around $180.00 I got the stabila for $234.00 It seems more rugged then the Lieca and thats important for the jobsite. Cant wait to get it!

I sold my Sig 226 to a Friend of mine ( So I can still shoot it lol) And decided to use the money to spend on stuff that I really need. like that laser and we bought a awesome light for the front porch!https://www.oldcalifornia.com/Option...roductID=2-112

Re: Leica D2/D3 Users?
Loved it, till I got an H&K P2000!! Im a lefty and the H&K is more ambidextrous for me. Most all law enforcement in my area shoot sig 220 or 226 if they are not using Glocks.
My Sig was the Navy special edition. Had a cool anchor engraved on the side! Fortunatly I can still shoot it because I sold it to my shooting buddy. ;)
