He had a few new ones last time I saw him (Novemberish I think), but a lot I heard before. He's definately worth it for anyone who hasn't seen him.

I somehow managed to get an invite to Dr. Joe's building science summer camp in August, should be interesting. ( and I hear the beer is free and plentiful )

Spent 5 hours with Dr Joe today. The guy is a real trip!

He did give his blessing to vented attics in Houston, especially those with tile and well insulated attics, radiant barrier, and ductwork in conditioned space. He said he thought a lot of our houses had roofs that were just to large, too cut up, too complex to do non-vented attics.

He also is not a fan of the LEED program, actually trashed it pretty good, and actually thinks the NAHB Green Building Program is better. He was quick to point out he is not a schill for the NAHB, in fact he said "they hate him" for some reason he didn't want to discuss.

The best line of the day:

"A leak is not a leak if owner never sees it".

And I mentioned that his name was thrown around on the JLC forum a lot, I asked him if he ever looked in here, in typical Lstiburek fashion he replied "no, I'd rather spend time on the porn channel".

He did have nice things to say about Martin.

I hope he enjoyed our high temp of 103 today as Houston posted its seventh consecutive day of 100-plus degree temperatures.

I'm sorry I missed his seminar as I would like to know his recommendations for our hot & humid climate.

I'm beginning to agree with him, it seems that these fora, formerly focusing on construction and the construction business, have become media for left wing political propaganda which brings a right wing response, at times I think if I ever hear the words green building or energy efficiency I'm going to throw up, yet they have come to dominate this industry.
