Azek vs fypon
Please explain as simply as possible the main differences between Azek and fypon for outdoor column trimming which will be hit by cold, rain, and winter snow.

Few to none. Both cellular PVC.
What, specifically, are you interested in knowing? Who are you and where are you? (fill in your profile)

Re: Azek vs fypon
One contractor estimated materials at double the cost using the Azek. rather than the Fypon...wondered if the Azek is a better material...

Re: Azek vs fypon
OK, there's interior Fypon, which is urethane, and exterior Fypon which is PVC. I assume the guy priced the PVC stuff for the exterior application . . . or maybe not. If only one contractor had this bid phenomenon, he probably effed up his bidding and priced the interior stuff.
BTW - everything I'm telling you is obtained on the manufacturer's websites. Suggest you continue your inquiry there, and with their respective technical departments.

AZEK Trim is now S4S (all four sides sealed) and is still the only trimboard with an ICC evaluation (International Code Council Report)....code approved for ground contact, termite resistance, fade resistance.......
