Re: Construction Master 5 Deal
The Pro has more functions than the 5. You can check out the differences at Calculated Industry's site. Here's the link to the Pro...http://www.calculated.com/productcar...&idproduct=101
And to the 5...http://www.calculated.com/productcar...&idproduct=103
Unless you absolutely need the additional functions of the Pro, the 5 should be fine, & it's about half the cost of the Pro.
For those that need the ultimate-do-everything calculator, there's also the Pro Trig...http://www.calculated.com/4/prd102/C...+Pro+Trig.html
BTW, there's also a deal on the Pro Trig for 43 bucks...http://www.amazon.com/Calculated-Ind...SIN=B00081764Y
And the Pro is higher than the Pro Trig (!) at 46 bucks...http://www.amazon.com/Calculated-Ind...9215869&sr=1-1Last edited by gburnet; 12-13-2008 at 06:52 PM.

Mine was shipped but not yet received. Can I get a $5 credit, or what?

Re: Construction Master 5 Deal
I don't know if they do that. I ordered something once before from them and tried to cancel but could not. The order had not shipped but it was "in process" or something. I called and asked for them to call UPS and recall the order, but they said they could not. They said to refuse delivery when you receive the package and it will be sent back to them and your account credited in full.
So just reorder and refuse the first order. If they do deliver it then call UPS and they'll pick it up on their route or you might be able to drop it off. It seems weird that they would have a process like that but I guess it works for them. I refused one a few weeks ago and about 3 days later received the email about them receiving the package, then another letting me know that the account had be credited back the amount.

Re: Construction Master 5 Deal
The Construction Master 5 is down to $25.71 now. It has dropped in price 4 times since the original deal of $35.

Re: Construction Master 5 Deal
I'm bummed. Got mine today along with the Armadillo case I ordered. The case doesn't fit. The calculator has its own plastic cover flap that definitely would not survive life on the road. I guess this one stays in the office and I buy another that will fit in the case. FWIW, I already have one CM in an Armadillo, and am just looking for another to live in my backup tool kit, which has to travel.

Re: Construction Master 5 Deal
It's Christmas and you probably don't have 17 inches of snow on the ground so don't be too bummed. I'm in Vt for the week and this morning it was -5, I wish my sister moved to Fla.
For a case, check out some of the generic ones for pda's and black berrys, those should fit it easily and their cheaper than that armadillo case. Walmart, Best buy, target should all have something. Since the case is suppose to fit that calc and they link them together, I would send it back since otherwise its probably useless.

Re: Construction Master 5 Deal
I have the Armadillo and it's very robust. Actually though, my case just broke two weeks ago. The little tab you lift to pop open the case cracked off in the cold, so now the only way I can get the cover open is to pop my uitlity knife under the cover.
I should get another one...Your source for:

Re: Construction Master 5 Deal
Dave, I don't think the newer model CM5 will fit in an Armadillo case. Why not swap the 5 for the Pro Trig, which is only a few bucks more?
