Domino & handrails
I attended the Seattle JLC show this weekend. Spent most of the time at Jed Dixion's stair demo. He does a very good job of describing the basics, but since I had seen it before I wandered around alot.
Across from the demo was the Crown Heritage booth with their 2 part rail attaching magnetic device. It doesn't appeal to me because I usually make my own rail. From there I wandered over to the Festool booth were they were showing the Domino to a guy & thought I wished it would extend more to work like the Crown Heritage tool. As I looked at it I noticed that there are only 2 dovetail plastic parts limiting the upward movement.
Today I went to the shop, grabed mine & removed those 2 pieces of plastic which allowed more upward travel. First try lined up as well as any I've ever seen after fine tuning. Here is a pic showing the result
