    Default Protecto Wrap recall?

I heard a rumor that there is a recall on some protecto wrap products. Anyone know if there is any truth to this?? I do plan on calling the company on Monday.

I have there 6" and 9" inch P&S all over my house. Most of my windows and doors are installed with it....and I have about 9 more windows to install.

I love this stuff....I hope there is nothing worng with the stuff I'm using

Nothing on their website, and there appears to be nothing via a quick Google search. We used one of their products recently and I would be HOSED if it turned out to be defective. I should know in 5-10 years.

I also saw nothing about it

Here is the thread and it's post #8. It's nothing definative, but just the mention of a recall scares me

    Jeffaah,
I should clarify. I was looking for the "superstick tape" by the same company that makes protecto wrap. The yard employee (take that for what its worth) told me that the mfr. had called that day and asked them to take it off the shelves. Protectowrap and a slew of other stuff they make was still on the shelves and no plans to remove them. The only details he knew was that "they had had some problems in the northeast with wet cold plywood not adhering"
In my humble opinion they prob. took it off the shelves because they were promoting it as a product you could use on wet substrate in extreme cold and heat, something they don't claim for protectowrap. So if you followed the directions for the wrap you should be in good shape. Lord knows I've installed a pallet of the stuff, I hope it's OK.

    Clear as mud right?

I was curious on how it really could be defective. Especially since it's been around for a few years now.

I use both but prefer vycor.

Could be that they over promised or something. I met the president at the trade show and super stick was an accurate name. He demoed it and gave me a sample. Sticks to your hands, your travel bag, etc. Not re-positionable at all.

Good for marginal conditions but probably not so good for regular ones. Good company and real nice guy.

    GEORGE: (Irritated) It's called a T-square.

WYCK: You know, the stupidest guy in my fraternity became an architect - after he flunked out of dental school! (Everyone but George laughs) Congratulations, young man. (Shakes Steven's hand)

I just got the skinny on the PW rumor.
There was an issue with some of the facer on one product, only from a certain run as I understand.
This is not a company wide recall of product, simply an isolated occurrence.

PW has asked their Distributors to hold on to that product and they will get good stuff out.

If you have additional concerns or questions call Mike Stout @ 303-777-3001

I had heard the rumor as well and it is good to know it was isolated and they are doing the right thing.
