Any windows other than Pella with mini blinds between the glass?
I have a customer that wants a 6 foot slider and a bedroom window and a build up bay window. She likes the mini blinds in the sashes by Pella. I have installed them before and have had no problem.
I Googled Pella and found a lot of complaints, mostly due to their relationship with Lowes and poor installation, so I was wondering if any other mfg offers a similar treatment?
I heard about Eagle, but didn't find them with a Google search, CORRECTION I found them, but they don't show between the glazing curtains/blinds etc.
So anyone, anyone, Bueller?

I don't think there are any others, in fact I know there aren't (I recently researched for a client). Except for Eagle, and their shades are somewhat lower quality than Pella.

Re: Any windows other than Pella with mini blinds between the glass?
If you look at the Pella's all the are is an IG unit with mini-blinds and a storm sash covering the blinds. I looked at the Tailor Made site and they must do that. It's interesting that they say "no subcontractors", Allan didn't believe me a few years ago when I said that around here everyone was advertising no subcontractors, so we are not the only area catching on to the scam.

Well Taylor Made is in Michigan and don't subcontract so I guess that just leaves Pella.
Thanks for double checking me guys.

Do you have a Pella Store close to you? We have one here that has a service team and salespeople.
If we have a customer that really wants the Designer Series (with shades) we always move up to the triple pane glass.-Dan

Remember with Pella, when you open the window you loose the effect of the blinds.

Find the builder rep at your local Pella showroom. There are 5 in the LA area. Don't mess with Lowes.

5 within 13 miles. 4 out of 5 are Lowe's. Sad, really.

Exclude Lowes from the search. I found five within 33 miles in the LA area.
Incidentally, there are five Pella Stores within 28 miles of Dedham, MA.
Houston only has two.
Our local Pella builder rep is great. It is nothing like dealing with Lowes.Joe Adams

Re: Any windows other than Pella with mini blinds between the glass?
I looked into that for a customer once. The Pella window I saw with blinds between the glass did not have the proper DP rating for use here. I also thought it was cheaply made & over priced. I know Reliabuilt makes them too, & they cost much less than Pella. It's a neat idea but, that about it IMO.
Two roads diverged in a narrow wood. I took the path less traveled.
