  • ABC Test

I was just reading an article in Remodeling magazine about the changes in worker classification laws that have been changed in NJ and IL. It mentioned that for subs to be legally classified as subs they need to pass the "ABC Test", and it is the responsibility of the contractor to provide the proof. I have never heard of the ABC test. Could someone let me know what information is required?

    Re: ABC Test

The ABC test is broader than the IRS test, presumably to keep marginal subcontractors covered with unemployment insurance.
