$65.80 for 1 sawhorse? How good can they possibly be? $131.60 for a pair, no thanks.

Re: 35" Trojan sawhorses on sale
I have some that are about 15 years old, still in everyday hard use. Stuff that lasts like that costs...

Re: 35" Trojan sawhorses on sale
That's an "on sale" price? I've had them bookmarked there for a while, and my sometimes-faulty memory is telling me that Amazon has been normally selling them for less than that. Are you certain that $65.80 is a markdown from what they've been charging?

Looks like maybe Sears is the better source...

WTF, they seem like quality horses and if you need to hold up 2 drafts of plywood and a large dude then I'm sure they are worth the money. Generally I do trim and use the plastic folding $50.00 a pair horses. But they do seem impressive for heavy work.

Generally the forum software shortens the links to less than one line. Don't know why it didn't this time, tho' the penultimate character looks suspicious.

I note that the model number at Sears is different--PS35, rather than TS-35. One wonders if this is a "cost-optimized" version for Sears.

Re: 35" Trojan sawhorses on sale
WTF, that was what tipped me off to the difference, actually. My sense of the review is that it is likely that the reviewer is just assuming that they are the same. He doesn't actually say that he compared the two and found them to be identical. That could be the case, but it could just as well be that he jumped to a conclusion. There's not enough information in his review for me to discern which of those two possibilities is in fact the case.
Generally speaking, a difference in model indicates that there is some difference in the products. It could possibly be that the only difference is the model number itself, so that they can play games with "we'll match any price (on the identical item)", or to get around fair-trade laws. But then again, it could be that the Sears version is built more cheaply, so that they could meet the price that Sears insisted on in order to do business.Last edited by SolarPowered; 10-11-2007 at 08:05 PM.
