Trojan saw horses
Love 'em, Love 'em, Love 'em. Easy to set up, bombproof, and easy to carry.

Re: Trojan saw horses
I love the "special deal" a bit down the page ("better together")--You get legs for one 27" horse, and one 35" horse! I guess that makes perfect sense to a bookseller that normally recommends "If you want to by this Isaac Asimov book, perhaps you might want this one as well." That paradigm fails miserably for pairs of sawhorses. :(

Re: Trojan saw horses
my father in law has a pair they are pretty nice but i prefer one piece designs like these:
i got a pair of these in my truck right now they work well - a little hard to setup and take down and kind of big:
http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/AS.../sdonatocom-20
i have 6 sets of these all over the place i just wish i could uncover them (they are holding up stuff all over my shop) so they could be in my truck very easy setup and take down and small... i have the model that Homo Depo sells same thing but at $20/each:

just my 2-cents

Re: Trojan saw horses
I like the plastic ones from HD. They hold plenty of weight and they stay sturdy over time. The only problem I have with them is my helper forgets to set his saw depth and cuts the ends off. I have three sets now, one set is getting pretty short though.

Re: Trojan saw horses
Geoff, i had a set of them and my old helper cut a sheet of ply on top of them and when he was done both of the saw horses and the ply fell in the middle and broke apart... it was the funniest thing and i couldn't yell at him at all...
they were cheapies from walmart - you know the kind 2 for $11.88... POS... but they did last two jobs ;O)-Sal

Re: Trojan saw horses
Sal,
I agree the yellow Crawford horses are almost identical to the Fulton model. Methinks that one or the other is a clone. Both have individually adjustable legs, same 25 to 40" ht adj, same long 38" top rail, and almost same weight capacity. Yellow Crawford at 1200 lb each, & 2000 lb (pair) Fulton.
The Crawford is $23.21 on Amazon or close to that at HD. I use mine to support my 36" wide Cutting table for Festool cuts or for assembly.

Re: Trojan saw horses
Mine didn't even make it that far...
I picked them up on a cold winter morn....about 10 degrees out and tossed them into the back of my truck (mistake).....when I got to the job they were cracked from the impact....and being frozen......good thing I didn't stack a couple of units on top of them!PRAY FOR OBAMA.....Psalm 109:8

Re: Trojan saw horses
the ones from HD really hold up. The short set I have must be three years old and I was never gentle with them figuring they were cheap plastic and I would just replace them.

Re: Trojan saw horses
I prefer the stablemate horses. Other than the weight they are perfect.

Re: Trojan saw horses
I second on the stablemate horses. The yellow crawford horses have too much play in the leg locks so they will float back and forth a little. The Trojans are good, but you have to keep replacing the 2x4's when they get chewed up too much from the teeth on the clamps,(or if your helper cuts through them with the 10'' circ saw) also every once in a while you have to bend the clamp jaws in a little because they relax over time and won't hold on the 2x4's very well.

Re: Trojan saw horses
I have a set of Fultons ts501, I also have a set of Metal Mules by Kehrig Manufacturing. Wish I could find who still sells them. The only bad thing about the Fultons (adjustable ones)is you have to shorten'em to fold'em.

Re: Trojan saw horses
I've used those giant awkward premade one also, All I'm saying is if you havn't tried the Trojans you should get some and give them a go. I would rather save the space in the trailer for more valuable tools myself. I know that those others are no where near as stable and versatile as these. Can't transform those horses into 10 long ones if you need to. Put a 2x8 on these and you can as wide as you want. I'm speaking from a remodelers stand point where we do everything from rafters (just started gang cutting thanks to this forum) to cutting doors down.
