Looking for a Video Shoot Location
I've been asked to help produce an exterior trim instructional dvd. Most of the program will consist of drawings, still photos, etc., but I'll also need to shoot video at a finished home, and possibly a home under construction. The video won't be of that home or the construction techniques used on the house (good or bad)--unless of course the home is superlative (that means 'most excellent.' The home I'm looking for will serve as a background for the video shoot.
I'm looking for an exterior that has some of the following features:
1. Paint grade exterior trim, ie:
2. Window and door Trim
3. Bandboards or water table boards
4. Maybe some dormers
5. A porch with painted pilasters or columns
6. A beadboard ceiling
The shoot doesn't have to take place on a single location. If you have two or more homes in one area, that would work, too.
Above all, the homeowner would have to be agreeable--that means friendly. For that reason, a contractor's home would be even better--if it's finished!
I'm in a position to offer some enticement, too, which I won't discuss until I've seen pics of your potential locations. I will say this: I think I can make it worthwhile for one of you. Like I said, I need only one location, or a couple in a single area. I'm willing to shoot this anywhere in the country, preferably in early spring. At most, it's a one-day non-intrusive project with limited equipment.

Re: Looking for a Video Shoot Location
Don't see too many bandboards around here, and porches are generally pretty spartan: often bare posts with no detailing. A beadboard ceiling may be hard to come by as well, though we have lots of Pine T&G ceilings and porch lids.
I'm thinking somewhere back East might be better?www.telianconstruction.com

My 100 year old house has most of those, but I assume you want new construction.

Re: Looking for a Video Shoot Location
Dan,
Yes, at first I kind of thought a new construction site but really, it doesn't matter. A nicely tuned up historic home sure tickles my feet. Please let me know more--email me, and I'll need to see some pictures, too.
Twins,
I'm sorry I fell asleep on the couch last night and didn't call you!!! I'll call tonight for sure!! I can't wait to find out what progress you've made, and SEND me some pics of the outside of your house!

Re: Looking for a Video Shoot Location
You can use my home if you want. Pics below. All exterior trim is 4/4 cypress. It was all milled by me to varying widths and thicknesses. The interior millwork is all poplar painted with impervo enamel.
Let me know.

Re: Looking for a Video Shoot Location
Ron,
That is a sweet one in Williamsburg. Please post pics as your in progress. I wouldn't mine seeing some of the framing pics if you get up there for any reason before they board up the walls.
Welcome by the way.
Nice work in Va beach. Used to live there, miss it terribly. Rented a home on the beach for the week of Memorial Day. Can't wait to relax on the beach and do some fishing offshore too.Rob
