    Default NAHB Show January

It's that time again. Who is going? I know I've probably insulted everyone here at least once, but if anyone is interested in meeting up, let's do it! I'm booking the Emma Shinn seminar "Cost Does Not Create Value".

Is Sonny buying steaks this year?

I know i've been MIA for a while and am maybe all but forgotten, but I have my hands full at the moment with projects to complete plus a new baby due the 15th of Jan. so it looks like this year is out again. I hope you aren't retired by the time I get my butt out there Allan. You must have at least another couple good years in you eh?

I'm going but only for one day. Will get there early and leave when it closes. Got about a 4.5 hour trip from home. I'll find out if Tom is going.

    Steaks, eh?

    Who's buying drinks?

    Bob:

Ticket? Sure, since we’re meeting at Disney World, your ticket will be under the name of either Goofy or Dopey. If you make it, we can go to Joe Stoddard’s seminars and make fun of him.

    Randy:

Excuses excuses. You’re going to miss the “Cost Does not Create Value” seminar and my favorite, “How to Avoid Becoming a Paper Builder” seminar.

Sonny, hope we can meet up. Maybe I can straighten you out if we meet face to face.

This year I'll be there all week starting the 9th, multiple meetings for work of course. There are some great restaurants all up and down International Drive and I'm scheduling to revisit most of them!

Once we get a tally perhaps we can decide the first week of Jan where to meet

I was very lucky to be able to book a room today at the Rosen Center, I always book thru NAHB and get assigned to crummy hotels. That's a pretty good place to meet. Should I reserve a ballroom?

For a first time attendee, do you guys have any recommendations?

Is it difficult to get reservations for a hotel? Are there any presenters/seminars that shouldn't be missed?

I'm not a builder, just a carpenter, but I'm sure there is a good deal of information that would be useful today and in the future.

How to avoid becoming a paper builder? Hell I am embracing it! although I do have a trim guy on my payroll now so I certify that makes me legit in the eyes of those who care about such things.

    Sonny,

Since I consider myself a bit of a high roller, I will be sure to UPS a couple of cases of "Old Milwaukee" out there for all of you to enjoy. ;)

What no Congratulations on the baby! Boy you guys are a tough crowd and to think I was going to name him/her after one of you guys. :)

    Checkout http://www.buildersshow.com/Events/E...lSeminars.aspx for seminars.

The NAHB blocks up almost all the rooms, you have to got thru them, up to a certain date, maybe 2-3 weeks before the show, then the un-reserved rooms are released.

I apologize, Randy. I didn't know you had one. I'm thrilled for the both of you. Congrats!

BTW, I almost never drink and don't like beer, but thanks for the thought. I only drink screwdrivers and still, only about 4-6 per year. But..... I still swear occasionally and smoke, so I guess I have some "normalities". (-:
